A typical class at the International School of Excellence doesn't exist. Each class is different, and the individuals that make up each class come from a diverse range of backgrounds. We don't consider our students to be typical, and we don't teach in a typical way. For us, learning is about the individual.

We follow the Alberta curriculum - international studies have shown this to be one of the most effective curricula in the world, especially for the sciences. What we do at ISE is make a generic document personal, teaching to the strengths of the learner and providing feedback that helps them to improve their skills.

It can be tough as an ISE student. We set high standards of personal conduct and dress, and we expect our students to meet those standards. Lessons can be fast-paced and challenging, and our online learning system means that students will be expected to work on their studies at home, as well as in school. Last year, we logged over 6,000 hours of online learning time - the equivalent of two extra weeks of teaching for each student.

It's not all work, though. It is common for people to see administrators and teachers playing hockey, soccer or cricket with students at lunchtime. We have a highly motivated Physical Education department, and the school was recently awarded a platinum award for our physical education programme. Sports teams at ISE are very competitive, and we punch well above our weight in basketball and soccer competitions.

If you think that the idea of being treated as an individual, and not just another student, appeals to youthen contact the school and arrange an appointment with our Founder, Jean Fevry, at the address below:
